About Us
Built with the land, not on it
Outpost exists because the Kitirua Conservancy and the Maasai families who own this land agreed to set it aside for wildlife rather than grazing or development. We see ourselves as tenants first — our work is to make that agreement pay for itself, for the people and the land alike.
Community
Outpost is staffed almost entirely by Maasai from the villages bordering the conservancy. Guest fees fund a local school and clinic, and a share of every stay goes directly to a community trust that decides how it’s spent.
Conservancy
We lease our land from the Kitirua Conservancy under a long-term agreement that keeps it wild and free of fencing, giving elephants and other wildlife an open corridor between Amboseli National Park and the wider ecosystem.
